![]() ![]() ![]() I had an enjoyable, long overdue, week off from work! I had two goals that I wanted to accomplish and I did fairly well. The first was to begin (well, to finish) a grim Christmas short story I had been thinking about. I did start it and finished the first part of three. The second was to finish my history paper; which I did finish even if I only had four hours left before it was due! By Friday I had enough of my goals met that I decided it would be okay to visit an interest of mine in El Paso. I’m very glad I took the time for myself and decided to drive four hours to visit him. It was a great feeling to be away from home. I took a week off of work and, since that is precious time, I should make the most of it and travel a bit! The first night we prepared salsa and cooked traditional Mexican tacos with beans and rice. It was delicious. The second night he cooked a wonderful stir-fry and afterwards we took a drive to the El Paso, Texas and Juarez, Mexico border. Pictures do not do anything justice but it was still an amazing view. Its weird to think, as an individual, that you are just one of the millions of lights in a photograph. Sometimes our life seems so overwhelming we think its insane, but, we truly are insignificant; in a humbling way. There was an awesome ice cream van that had tons of different ice cream; even Sonic the Hedgehog Faces! ElPaso/Juarez is a place I would recommend anyone to see if they get the chance. Be sure to check out the lights at night. I believe it was called Rimm Street and it had viewing stations every so often. Blissful :) ![]() |
